“The icefest has given me an opportunity to really push myself and I have grown in many ways because of it. The instructors and volunteers are amazing. BIF is an environment of ‘you can do it and we will help’ …see you next year.”
- Jacqui from Pennsylvania, 2011 and 2012 BIF Participant
The Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival takes place the second weekend of December and was founded in 1996 and is dedicated to promoting and protecting the world-class ice climbing of Hyalite Canyon. Online sign up for our highly-regarded clinics begins here on our web site on October 1st each year. In 2012 they sold out in 8 days. The event draws the best athletes and participants from across the globe for a myriad of clinics, demos of the latest and greatest gear, inspiring slide shows and evening entertainment.
WELCOME TO THE FIRST EVER BIF LIVESTREAM BROADCAST
The BIF Livestream is essentially in beta mode the whole time. We will be broadcasting every evening from about 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and all day Saturday the 8th but we won’t be streaming 100% of the time (can’t afford that) and there are just other logistical issues.
In general, the camera will be something of a roving, reality show style broadcast with vignettes from the Fest. It archives these plus has DVR capacity. So anyone can go back and watch in case you miss any action. Sorry for the caveats but we just can’t be any more on it than this. Consider it akin to sitting in a tent on a glacier. Every so often our views will need to poke their head of the tent (ie. tune in) and see what’s going on. Might still be a whiteout but might be splitter! The uncertainty is part of the fun right?
